When Husayn b. Abi Talib, the grandson of the Prophet, heard Abu Dharr, say that “poverty is dearer to me than wealth, and illness dearer to me than health,” he felt compelled to voice his disagreement. So Imam Husayn said: “One who has trust in the beautiful choice of God most High for him,” he declared, “will not hope for anything other than what God most High has chosen for him” (cited in Qushayri).
