my love...

My love is not dependent on a subject. My love depends on my mood, my state of consciousness. If the others change, they transform; if a friend becomes the enemy, it doesn't matter because my love never depended on the other person. My love is the state of my being. I love you and I.

Sheikh Nur meditation on on Quran 42:13-18

" the nations who receive divine revelation through my messengers, often lose their human unity to afford to have conflicting visions on this preciadísimo knowledge of the divine unity, becoming insolent and arrogant to to with the others. The Word of power, that radiates from the source of power, has ordered the human history as a temporary period should serve as a test and teaching for the eternal souls. If it weren't for this divine dispensation, Allaah, the most high, it would solve immediately the petty squabbles, the interior and between, traditions revealed. Such conflicting views, superficially about the same divine message clear and universal, are poisonous to the people who receives one of the sublime books revealed as inheritance of the history of their nation, causing doubt and anxiety in their minds and hearts.
Therefore, my noble messenger, you need to call upon a deep harmony between all the sacred revelations and guide humanity, as you have been guided, by the way only, direct and universal of Islam, which is directed solely towards the source last. Please don't pay the slightest attention to any sectarian vision; instead, it proclaims to all with courage and openness: " I affirm the truth of all the revelations that have fallen in the form of holy books from the source of the truth, and I am Being instructed by this source itself to be impartial between the people of the revelation ".

consult your heart....

Consult your heart even if others give you a religious ruling.

~Prophet Muhammad~

***

"Consult your heart.  Righteousness is that about which the soul feels at ease and the heart tranquil.  And wrongdoing is that which wavers in the soul and  causes uneasiness in the breast even though people have repeatedly given their legal opinion in its favor."

And he said:

"Righteousness is in good character and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul, and which you dislike people finding about."

"Righteousness is in good character.  It is not in the number of prayers you perform, nor in the length of your beard.  It is in your behavior."

do not mock one another

Believers, let not a group of you mock another. Perhaps they are better than you. Let not women mock each other; perhaps one is better than the other. Let not one of you find faults in another nor let anyone of you defame another. How terrible is the defamation after having true faith. Those who do not repent are certainly unjust.

Whoever builds his faith exclusively on demonstrative proofs and deductive arguments, builds a faith on which it is impossible to rely. For he is affected by the negativities of constant objections. Certainty(al-yaqin) does not derive from the evidences of the mind but pours out from the depths of the heart.

wisdom of Hazrat Inayat Khan on how we pray!

Nature teaches every soul to worship God in some way or other, and often provides that which is suitable for each. Those who want one law to govern all have lost sight of the spirit of their own religion. And it is in people who have not yet learned their own religion that such ideas are commonly found. Did they but know their own religion, how tolerant they would become, and how free from any grudge against the religion of others!

So it is too with the manner of worship. It does not matter in what way a person offers his respect and his reverence to the deity he worships. It only matters how sincere he is in his offering.

It makes no difference whether one person prays standing, another sitting, another kneeling, another prostrating himself, another in company with other people and another alone. All that matters is that the heart of the worshipper is pure, that the mind is connected with God, that there is sincerity and earnestness.

that steep uphill road...

And what could make thee conceive what it is, that steep uphill road?
It is the freeing of a slave;
Or the giving of food in a day of hunger
of an orphan near of kin,
Or a needy person in misery,
Then he has become one of those who have believed, and exhort one another to patience, and exhort one another to kindness.

"God did not send me to be harsh, or cause harm, but He sent me to teach and make things easy."

- Sahih Muslim, Hadith 707

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights."

- Sahih Al Bukhari - Volumn I, Hadith 8
